Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.

You seem to suffer from Androgenetic alopecia which is genetically programmed thinning of hair in males along with recession of the anterior hair line.

Minoxidil is a non-specific hair growth promoter and is FDA approved for male pattern baldness. It should be applied twice daily at the hair roots.

Along with minoxidil it is common practice to give an oral antiandrogen e.g finasteride which blocks the conversion of testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone, which is responsible for miniaturization of hair. This part of the prescription seems to be lacking in your case, and may be responsible for inadequate response.

I would suggest that you see a dermatologist for a fair discussion regarding oral antiandrogen in your case.

regards
