How To Manage Mild Hydronephrosis And Bladder Distension In A Child?

My new born male baby was undergone Ultrasonography of KUB on07/03/2012 of his 3rd. day of his birth and found left side mild hydronephrosis and Urinary bladder is optimally distended with normal wall thickness. DTPA Renogram dtd. 21/04/2012 shown PUJ dialation in both the kidneys ( left > right ) with some compromise in Renal function. Again USG of KUB done on 30/04/2012 with impression of minimal left pelvicalyectesis. Lastly USG of KUB dtd. 02/08/2012 report shows that left kidney is mild fullness of pelvicalyceal system.AP diameter of renal pelvis is 8.4mm.& urinary bladder is partially distended.Local Homeopath doctor advice for Berberis Vulgaris one drop with one spoon water daily for two weeks.In this condition what precaution / proper medicine should be taken for the baby.Please advice. Thank you.

Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.
According to the reports,there's obstruction to urine flow in left kidney.
The cause for this has to be found and treated,if significant.
He should be examined by an Urologist and do the following tests :
1. urine routine and culture.
2. blood routine,creatinine,RBS,LFT,platelets and electrolytes.
3. A CT-IVU. According to these reports,a proper treatment can be advised.
