How to lose weight and lower BP ?

I need to lose about roughly 80lbs. I am overweight and have hbp. Its all about my health right now and I am still young. Doctor said that it will be easy for me since i am young and everything else regarding my health is ok, and that I wouldnt have anything to worry about once I drop these pounds. Any specifics.

Effective, natural weight loss basically comes down to two things - diet and exercise. Everything else you read will be a function of one or the other. Stay away from over the counter fat burners and diet pills. They are a waste of money at best, and dangerous at worst. The first thing you need to address are your eating habits. That doesn't mean cutting out fatty foods or desserts completely, but learning to eat them only once in a while and only in small quantities. The staples of your diet should be high fiber vegetables and lean meat and fish. You will also need to work on your activity level. If you have not worked out much or are out of shape, start out with ten minute walks or so, then work your way up to weight training and more intense cardio like running or biking. The key is to find ways to work these changes into your life in a way that you will be able to accept them and stick with them. Fad diets are not the answer, excessive exercise isn't the answer, and the same is true for anything drastic that you will not be able to live with. Look at this as a lifestyle change that you will stick with for the rest of your life.

Medics say there is no immediate danger and it rises in my case due to white coat syndrome probably. i don t want to have chemicals and want to do the reduction as naturally as possible.

hi I had my blood pressure taken yesterday at gp surgery and it was recorded at 153 over 103. I was told it was high and to get it checked again in a couple of months. My blood pressure has been monitored over the past six months or so and each reading has been shown to be high but yesterday was the highest todate. Is it ok to wait another couple of months to have it checked. I am 46yr old female, 5, 7 tall, weigh 12st (have been losing weight steadily over past six months to help lower blood pressure with abt 1 stone still to go) otherwise in good health

Hello, I am 40, male, non-smoker, 6ft tall and weighing 194lbs. I ve been losing weight for the past 5 months. In March I went to my cardiologist to have my heart checked. Since then I am on Lisinopril 20mg to control my bloodpressure. All the tests were fine. At the time of my doctors visit I was weighing 230lbs. So I dropped around 36 pounds in 5 months. Is that normal? Also, it doesn t stop. I keep losing weight. I changed my diet a little bit, but nothing radical though. Less soft drinks and deep fried food, other than that I have decent lunch and dinner. I don t have any pain or loss of appetite. My bowel movement is normal and stool color is light-brown to brown. Could Lisinopril be the cause of my weight loss? Also, I have anxiety and get very nervous with the slidest pain. Could anxiety also be a cause? Your thoughts and comments are more than welcome. Many thanks Michael

I am 74 y/o male who's been losing weight over the past 3 months. Total weight loss has been 3 kilos for 3 months. I have been constipated and my bowel movements have been irregular but my appetite has never changed and I still eat pretty well. I don't have any abdominal complaints. What could be causing this? I also eat fiber-rich foods but to no avail, I'm still constipated.
