How To Get Rid Of The Dull Pain Behind The Targus Of My Right Ear?

Hi, I've had a prolonged dull pain behind the targus of my right ear for several months now. Every time I rub my ear there, I hear a popping/crackling. When I went to see the Doctor, he said there was no infection, and that it is probably TMJ and prescribed me Naproxen. I took the prescribed dose, but I still feel pain in my ear. I've been taking Ibuprofen or Aspirin to alleviate the pain, but I don't want to keep taking this every day. What should I do?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding dull pain behind the tragus of your right ear.

As per your symptoms and the treatment you have taken it appears to be due to some infective pathology in the vicinity of tragus and this may be find out by taking X-Ray right ear in sculler's view.

Other possibility is of chronic perichondritis of tragal cartilage.

Probably above answers your query.

Regards.
