Hi Komal,
Stretch marks develop when you gain or lose weight suddenly in a short span of time. Consulting a skin specialist may help in this regard.
As you say you have gained 10 kgs weight in one year, you need to first rule out the possibility of any underlying medical problem which might be responsible for weight gain. Has their been any change in your activity levels within one year? If there hasn't been any significant changes in diet and activity then you must find out if this weight gain is due to any medical reasons. Get your
thyroid checked. Are you having your monthly periods regularly? If your answer is no, then you must consult a gynaecologist.
As far as diet is concerned, limit your intake of fried, fatty and oily foods. Avoid refined starches like white flour or maida products, bakery items, junk foods, white polished rice and too much of fat from butter, ghee and sweets. Include fresh fruits, vegetables in the form of raw salads and whole grain cereals like broken wheat porridges or dalia, whole wheat chapati, brown rice and oats. Have a low fat and fibre rich diet to reduce calories in diet and try to burn calories by staying physically active.
Keep yourself well-hydrated and de
stress regularly by
meditation,
yoga or by simply engaging in an activity that you enjoy.
