How To Get Rid Of Reaction To Novacaine?

On Friday i had a tooth extracted with Novacaine and under conscious sedation. Since then it s as if I am in a fog, as if my head is stuffed with a sock, like I can t wake up, as if I am walking around on a heavy dose of Xanax. The last two days i started to feel static in in calves and today my thighs are tight and hard to move. is this from the anesthesia and or a reaction to the Novacaine (i have a sensitivity to Novacaine)? How can I get rid of it. i ve tried drinking tons of water and nothing is improving.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi , I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

CNS effects (nervousness, dizziness, blurred vision, tremors) commonly represent the initial signs of local anesthetic systemic toxicity. However, these reactions may be very brief or absent in some patients in which case the first manifestation of toxicity may be drowsiness or convulsions merging into unconsciousness and respiratory arrest.

I suggest you should urgently need to contact your physician to have complete examination and workup to rule out ant other cause by checking CBC, electrolytes, renal and liver function tests. As if its due to Novocaine than only supportive treatment can be done ,
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate to ask. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
