In order to control diabetes, you must monitor your blood sugar levels using a glucometer. The blood sugar readings taken before and after meals, help to decide whether what you are eating and how much you are eating, needs any modification. Your activity levels also affect your blood sugar significantly, so you must increase your activity to control blood sugar. Eat a healthy diet low in fats/oils and sugar and rich in fibre like more fresh fruits and raw salads to satiate hunger without increasing blood sugar significantly. Eat small portions of food at more frequent intervals to prevent fluctuations in blood glucose levels. Hope you have got some idea about managing your diabetes. For more specific advice, you can consult me as I am a Certified Diabetes Educator.
