How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Hi! I think I might be pregnant. If so, I'm exactly 5 weeks as of today. When I lay still, I feel excess blood flow going towards my lower abdomen and uterus area. Also, if I hold my breath, I can see my stomach pulsating. It's never happened before... I was just curious. Thanks!

Hello,

Just by symptoms we cannot come to a conclusion regarding the pregnancy. Usually up to 10 to 12 weeks the uterus will remain inside the pelvis and cannot be appreciated per abdomen.

Excessive thinking about the pregnancy can lead to symptoms that mimic the pregnancy, which is called spurious pregnancy.

If you want to be sure, please go for a pregnancy test, either urine or blood test. Comparatively blood test for pregnancy is more accurate. If the serum beta HCG levels are more than 5 mIU/mL indicates the possibility of pregnancy.

Serum beta HCG levels of more than 25 mIU/mL confirms the possibility of pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
