How Long Will Sleeplessness, Hallucinations, Confusion, Anxiety And Paranoia Last?

My husband is going through alcohol detox right now. He enter the hospital 10 days ago. Most of his physical symptoms are gone but he has been without sleep for 3 days, has major hallucinations, he is in a state of confusion, anxiety does not understand anything you tell him. He has paranoia he is like a crazy person. How long can this last? I am getting worried that he will stay in this state of mind forever. He was a heavy drinker for 10 years. He went to the hospital because of liver problems.

I had gone through your query.

Alcohol addiction has two type of withdrawal features 1. Physical and psychological.

While detoxification phase, Physical symptoms are gone in early week while psychological symptoms take time to resolve.

Hallucination and confusion lat for up to 1 month after proper therapy.

Sleep disturbances can be treated with proper medicines and it is almost improve while in indoor stay.
