How Long To Cure The Cellulitis Around My Ear After Antibiotics?

I have cellulitis around my ear. I started on Antibiotics 3 days ago and have been told if the skin does not feel softer over the weekend to goto emergency and get IV antibiotics. It is a little better but still swollen and tender. I don't want to waste emergency resources. How much better should the cellulitis be after 3 days?

Hi,

The cellulitis will get resolved in 3-5 days after taking a proper antibiotics particularly Amoxicillin and Metronidazole (if you are not allergic). If it is not subsiding in 5 days time, you need to consult an Otolaryngologist and get it evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
