How Long Can A Person Having Ventricular Tachycardia Live?

I have just discovered that I have Ventricular Tachycardia. I went to have my new pacemaker of a month checked and adjusted (for complete heart block after an operation) and at the check up the technician noticed a 28 second episode and called for the dr and he consulted the Consultant. I was given Amiodorone 200mg front loaded. My question is: How much useful life have I got left to get things in order and get on with my bucket list?

Hi,

Most probably you have slow ventricular tachycardia, which wasn't intervened with your ICD.
With your ICD you are relatively safe, it will terminate fast tachycardias, which are life threatening, slow ventricular tachycardias are not as dangerous. Anyway Amiodaron will help to prevent the tachycardias.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
