How Is Anxiety Treated?

I am 56 year old female, RN. I am having problems with anxiety and I think it has went beyond anxiety, to full pannic. My right eye is twitching and I feel as though someone has punched me in the stomach. I have had a headache and have been vomiting for 2 days.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

I read your query and can understand your concern regarding your symptoms. The symptoms you have mentioned can be due to anxiety.

I would suggest you consult a psychiatrist for your symptoms. Baseline investigations like complete blood counts, thyroid profile, ECG would be required to rule out any medical disorder. Medications like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors would be helpful in your condition. Initially benzodiazepines can be given for a short period to provide immediate relief.

Hope this information was helpful. Best wishes.
