Hi,
In a fetus the homeostasis is maintained by mechanisms similar to adults. The placenta is the major organ taking part in this. The oxygenation occurs in the placenta and is derived from the mothers blood. The red blood cell production takes place in the liver in the fetus. All other hormones and body functions are regulated in a similar way as would in an adult. Hope that answers the query
