How Do You Check If Your Heart Is OK

The doctors is the obvious answer, I did go and he just said it was random aches. I will pursue further but I want to know if there is a particular test I should request. I get a lumpy feeling on the left side of my chest which gives very, very mild aches now and again. It s hard to describe it but it feels like I can feel my heart. The other day I also got a pulsing ache in my thumb, again very mild, which was in sync with my heart beat. I thought it could of been because of the way I was position so I did standup, stretch my arms and so on but it was still there. Just thought I give you a little idea of what I am feeling but if I wanted to check my heart, is their a certain procedure I should ask for?

Well, it would be best to start with simple blood work to see if anything is going on. If they suspect something, then the dr would be the best one to determine if you need further testing. The medical field uses a variety of tests to determine heart problems, so there isn't any one certain procedure to perform. They go by a process of elimination, starting with the basics...blood work.
