First you need to have your "tachycardia" diagnosed by a cardiologist. It could be something serious. If all checks out, try avoiding any cardiac stimulants ie: caffeine, stress, smoking, some OTC decongestants and herbal supplements, "energy drinks (full of caffeine and sugar), and try to increase your exercise if okay'd by your physician.

I have noticed sometimes when i drink coffee before i go to bed i have rapid heartbeat and is even sounds like i can hear my heart beating in my ears. I am certain that gas build up in my stomach is causing my heart to skip beats and causing tachycardia. I have gas and belching that can last for hours. I take prilosec with no effect.
