How Can Sharp Piercing Pain In Shoulder Be Treated?

I m getting a sharp piercing pain in my left shoulder muscle. Feels like I m getting shot with a needle. It comes and goes as I move my arm in various positions. The pain lasts only a few seconds. It started 2 days ago at work after I woke up from a nap. What does it sound like?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan to rule out ligament or tendon injury.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
