How Can Painful And Discolored Tonsils Be Treated?

Hello, I have an ongoing issue. I have one swollen tonsil with white, yellow stuff, my other tonsil (the left) is sore sometimes feels rough/burning when swallow or talk. I have a few red spots dotted on back of throat, tonsil and gum. I have white spots on my gum also. I have ear pain mainly in left and sometimes popping and I am now getting facial sensations, tingling, soreness in jaw etc, even my head is feeling sensitive on this side. There is neck pain on the left and a sensation of something stuck in throat. I have been to ENT 3 times and scoped twice, was told nothing abnormal both times. My symptoms are changing and getting worse in my eyes. I am on a 2 month course of antibiotics for throat and am trying (again) prescribed antacid tablets.

Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a chronic tonsillitis. It is an infection of the tonsils which persist beyond two weeks. I recommend you to do a throat swab culture to confirm the bacteria that is causing the symptoms and take proper treatment.

Meanwhile drink liquids and rest also take anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day, if necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
