How Can Cholesterol Levels Be Controlled?

male 40 height 174cms weight 74kgs.
I have been diagnoised with thyroid problem in april 2010 and since then iam on medication taking 1.1/2tablet of eltroxin everyday,and during my last check in Dec 2010 my doctor advised the tsh and t4 is mormal,and still adviced to continue with one tablet of eltroxin every day morning on empty stomach.
Before treatment iwas 97kgs and now iam 74 feeling better and able work on treadmill 50-60min/day and burn around 450-500cal.
Inspite of this my total cholestral level is 267(ldl185),i occassionaly take non veg and consume tea 6times a day.

As you have mentioned that you have hypothyroidism.High cholesterol can be due to uncontrolled hypothyroidism.But as per your history your thyroid status is under control.so you should consider statin group of medicines to control your high cholesterol.i suggest you to get complete lipid profile done so as to get complete information .
