How Can Bacterial Vaginosis With Discharge And Itching Be Treated?

I cannot get rid of BV.... keeps coming back after multiple treatments of Flagyl. I have been tested for all STDs, all negative. I tried dietary changes, with less sugar, more yogurt, but nothing is working. I have excessive yellowish discharge and itchy/burning vulvar area. Other suggestions please? I am going out of my mind with the irritation. Thank you!

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. If fishy smelling abnormal discharge is there then it should be treated as bacterial vaginosis. For my patients i treat with combination of antibiotics like metronidazole or clindamycin plus clotrimazole as vaginal suppository or oral tab.If no such characteristic discharge is there then it can be hormonal cause.Usually if there is estrogen deficiency there will be burning sensation and itching. In such case i advise estradiol cream for local application. You should also avoid irritating soaps and change to hypoallergic soaps like Cetaphil.I also recommend my patients to use intimate wash regularly to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
