History Of Prostate Cancer. Cannot Sense Urination Urge. Losing Blood Through Catheter. What To Do?

My husband has had prostat cancer and as a result, has had radiation. Now he has been experiencing a lack of sensing the need to urinate. The doctor has placed a catheter in about 2 weeks ago and my husband has been loosing blood through the catheter ever since. The doctor has agreed to do some sort of a laser surgery on the 21st of July, but said that the catheter needs to stay in place until then. He has been in the hospital since last Tuesday, receiving blood and platelets. He also has myloplastic and his bone marrow is not making the cells that he needs. His current Urologist is very testy and sharp, and has suggested that we need a different doctor, but we know that there are no others in Stevens Point. What can we do?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
First of change the catheter and small bore catheter as usually 18 number catheter is inserted .
Insert no. 14 ( small caliber i.e. narrow) catheter and in my opinion at once blood will stop.
When blood will stop, you can consult your urologist and deal according to situation.
