Heavy Smoker. Experiencing Chest Pain Several Times A Day. Reason?

Hi, my name is Stephanie and i m 28 years old. I ve been a smoker for the past 11 although for the past 8 months i ve been smoking very heavily sometimes 2 packs a day due to some drastic changes in my life style. I ve been experiencing slight chest pain daily, mostly in the left side of my chest and sometimes in the middle. Theres nothing really that brings it on or aggitates it that i can think of. Its a dull ache that accurs several times daily. Its really starting to worry me. Could something serious be wrong?

Hello
Welcome to HCM

Smoking is harmful to every organ system of body. You are 28 and are smoking since last 11 years, and heavy smoking since last 8 months. 2 packs are not a small amount. Due to smoking you are having pain in chest which is dull and occurs several times a day.
I want to know if you are having cough?
If you are having difficulty in breathing?
Are you expectorating excess amount of sputum?
Have you ever spitted blood in sputum?

If any of those questions carry yes as answer then you should consult your doctor.
Many things can occurs only due to chronic smoking-
- Cancer of Lungs mainly but also cancer of stomach, food pipe, bladder
- Increased risk to TB
- Risk of chronic bronchitis

So visit your doctor soon and try to quit smoking.
To quit you can take various medicines like Buspirone, Vernicline etc. You can visit again and ask me a question if you are ready to quit.

Thanks
