Heavy Feeling In Head, Whooshing, Dizziness. Diagnosed With Vertigo. Taking Meclizine. Suggestions?
I am 36 yrs old and was "diagnosed" w/ vertigo approx. 2 mos ago. I went to my ENT Dr. and she did an BPPV exam(test) she said it was negative. I am on meclizine and it seems to help sometimes. My symptoms are heavy feeling head, whooshing in my head, sometimes a little off balance or dizziness( but not all the time) shortness of breath.

Hello, Thanks for writing to us.
If you tend to feel lightheaded when you stand up, take your time making changes in posture. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration, which can cause or worsen lightheadedness.
If your dizziness causes you to feel like you might fall, take steps to reduce your risk. Keep your home well lit and free of hazards that might cause you to trip. Avoid area rugs and exposed electrical cords. Avoid moving suddenly. Stand up slowly. Avoid using caffeine, alcohol and tobacco. Excessive use of these substances can worsen your signs and symptoms.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
