Heaviness In Head, Shooting Pain From Head To Temple To Eye, Stiff Back, Neck. On Tylenol. History Of Fall And Hit On Head. Serious?

Hi. A few nights ago; I had been drinking quite a bit of wine, too much accually. I'm 23 yrs old and I ended up loosing my balance and put one foot into my laundry basket and I just comoletely fell backward with my head hitting the fish tank stand. I managed to get up and lay in my bed without feeling any pain but the next day my head felt heavy and ever sense I've been having these shooting pains going from the back if my head to my left temple to my eye. I take tylenol but it only works the ninimum also I have a stiff neck and back. Do you think anything serios happed or should I just wait it out? It happend about 3 to 4 days ago now

Thank you for your time

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.

First of all, I would like to reassure you that your symptoms do not suggest any thing serious, and you would recover in a few days.

In addition to the external scalp injury at the back, you also seem to have hurt your cervical spine (neck).

You can continue to take analgesics for the next 3-5 days. If symptoms persist beyond that, you should consult a doctor.

I hope it helps. Please get back if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Neurology)
