Is this true; Hi All, read this:- 1 Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job. 2 You’re really tired, upset and frustrated. 3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home. 4 Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. 5 You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself. 6 HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. 7 However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. 8 Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. 9 Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!! 10 A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life. 11 Rather than sending jokes, please..contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life…. 12 If this message comes around you ……more than once…..please don’t get irritated……U need to be happy that you are being reminded of how to tackle….Heart attacks….AGAIN… From: DR.N Sivakadakshm, (Senior Cardiologist)
23 years male, 177cm, 66kg. for the last 3 months i have been having chest discomfort, dizzy, palpitations and fast heart rates (90-110 at rest), high blood pressure (24h monitor revealed 133/75mmHg, pulse pressure 58mm Hg, heart rate 86bpm - during sleep 126/63mmHg and heart rate 64bpm, it fluctuates between 50-84bpm), sometimes i have bluish/purpule lips and nails, sometimes i feel like my throat is closing or narrow. ekg was normal, echocardiogram did not reveal anything, and bike-stress test was ok (time 0= 145/85mmHg and 132bpm, reached 171bpm @ 175w in 8:17minutes - after 1st minute it went down to 150bpm, the second minute it went back up to 157, the 3rd minute 143, 4th 134, 5th 133bpm; my bp went up to 175/95mmHg, 3rd minute of rest it went back down to initial 150/85mmHg). i did not fell any pain or problems breathing, just a little lightheaded. i still get palpitations (at rest), my lips turn bluish at the corners, i feel slightlly faint or dizzy. i can run for 15 minutes(5 walk, 5 run, 5 really really fast run) and not have any discomfort (maybe a little dizzy or lightheaded). what can it be ? if i experience chest pain or discomfort, wouldn t exercising while i feel it make it worse ? i tried it twice and the discomfort went away. (still get that blue color on the side of my lips and purpule-ish nails). my dad had a heart attack when he was 45.
Is this considered a heart attack symptom:: sharp and sudden pain on right side of upper back, just above shoulder blade, sweating, blood pressure raised. Pain subsided after lying down for about 30 minutes with ice pack. Seemed to have migrated somewhat to right side of chest and felt like heartburn. Several hours later all symptoms gone.
My brother is having a heart cath tomorrow. Apparently he has had a heart attack sometime in the last ten years.
His heart rate has become uncontrollable with meds and sontinues to beat at 131. He said the doctor told him some rate (he couldn't remember) was at 25 and should be higher. Can you perhaps clarify what this may mean?
I used to be a body builder and took some steroids. I have had 2 heart attacks and a quadruple bypass, and still get very out of breath. I am overweight now with not being able to exercise! but the main problem is I think i do not produce enough testosterone, and to much estrogen as my man boobs are really large in comparison with my body. I am on lots of heart tablets, and type 2 diabetic also. Can you help?
My father had a heart attack 4 months ago in Russia and after unsuccessful angeoplasty attempt, his emergency doctor had treated him beside other things with Plaviks, Lipitor, Metoprolol-all of which he continues to take todate. Cardio-care is no longer available to him, and he is under immence muscle weakness and pain. His blood test established high levels of creatine. What is his best plan to balance between his heart medications and other health concerns? Can he stop the cholesterol drug and replace it with something else? Thank you for your help.
I live in a cigarette smoking building--I am very allergic to it or sensitive--my heart jumps in my chest at times, then beats up to 120 beats a minute. I'm trying to move, but it's very expensive and I dont have a job. My grandfather died of a heart attack at 78-he was a chain smoker, so not a lot of heart disease on my mom's side. I didnt know my fathers side of the family. Actually my uncle died of a massasive heart attack at 48--Im 47--that was on my mom's side.
