at 55 years old i eat a vegan diet have lost over 50 lbs over last few years. I am lean all over, except my abs. For the last year I have worked intensely at Krav Maga, kickboxing, kettle bells. Problem is that I cannot reduce the fat around my midsection (there has been some reduction, but still flabby). Should I continue with weight loss? Looking for best, healthy approach to firm abs.

Welcome to HCM,
First please accept congratulations for intentional weight loss,I can understand that you must be taking care of diet and exercise over so many years that is why weight loss is there keep it up.
I presume you do not have any health issues like high blood pressure or diabetes as a proper medical check up was done.
Yes fat around mid section is difficult to be removed as it is visceral fat and determined genetically also but please continue exercise and take help of fitness trainer for abdominal muscles exercises.
you can also practice yoga and pranayama to help in fitness.
I am sure exercises involving particular abdominal muscles with lot of cardio exercises will ultimately make ab muscles flat and healthy.
You have to maintain them even if you lose fat from central portion with diet and exercise.
Please also take medical check up nutritious diet of proteins and limited carbohydrates and fats.
