Having Been Sexually Inactive For A Long Time, Can Stress Or Quitting Weed Lead To Delayed Periods?

21 I have missed my last two periods, I haven't had sex in 7 months my last period was at the end of October. I have had my usual period symptoms but no period. My stress level is slightly higher then usual, I have put on some weight 6/10 pounds on averge. But nothing to extreme I recently quit smoking weed but I don't think that would have any effect... I'm kinda freaking out

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
- Stress can delay period to some extent, but not for 2 months.
- Smoking weeds/ stopping it does not have any effect on menses.
- Your weight gain, delayed periods do suggest menstrual irregularity due to hormonal causes (PCOs)-which can be diagnosed by pelvis ultrasound scan.
- The mood swings can be described by
- Hormonal changes
-withdrawal of weed smoking.
All of these need detailed clinical examination/investigations &treatment thereafter.
Thanks
