I'm also have an extremely horrible bout of what looks like cystic acne on the same side of the face. Any ideas? I don't have insurance rite now and can't afford to head to the doc. Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic
It seems like you have an infected acne cyst and an inflamed lymph node over the jaw bone in front of ear. This lymph node drains the skin over your cystic acne. So once the infection comes down the lymph node also usually disappears. You might require a course of antibiotic. Tablet azithromycin 500 mg once a day for 3 days will be adequate, get it prescribed by your primary care physician.
Hope this helped.
Take care
