Have Spondilothesis, Broken Back Due To Osteoporosis. Need Help With Pain Management
I am in severe pain from spondilothesis with other issues (getting worse rapidly) and recently found out that I have a broken back 3 places from osteoporosis or crushing's disease, find out more in a week. Excruciatingly painfully, with meds I function with out I am a vegetable practically with crying etc.. Pain clinic does not want to help anymore said I have been on too long and getting addicted. Took them away from me. Where do you find help with the stupid pain contracts that got me refusal of treatment for 7 days with a broken back. Wish I didn't have to use meds. Tired of the stigma
If the spondylolisthesis is of Grade 1 or 2, it can be managed conservatively by * Bracing - Lumbar sacral support * Activity modification - avoiding bending movements and lifting weights * Physical therapy - for strengthening of back muscles
For Grade 3 or 4 lesions and who are severly symptomatic, surgical fusion is recommended.
Epidural steroid injections may help in reducing the radicular pain (pain in the legs)
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
