However streptococcus is most common pathogen for throat infection and drug of choice is peniciliin . In your case it seems that some other bacteria may be responsible , so a broad spectrum antibiotic will work. In my opinion you should take LEVOFLOXACIN 750 mg / day just for 5 days after dinner . Few patients feel mild dizziness and nausea , so need not to worry , you can use 2-3 tablets of antacid . Good luck. Dr. HET
