Have Pea Sized Bump On Penis. Can Remove It By Surgery. Cause?

I want to the doctor like 2 weeks ago about this pea sized bump on my penis. He said that it isn't harmful and he tends to see it more in African American males, which I am. He also said I could come in at anytime to have it remove in surgery, and it would be some cheezy stuff inside of the bump. I just wanted to know what it was.

Hello
Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have
a sebaceous cyst on penis.
Scrotum and penile skin is rich is rich in sebaceous glands hence more prone to develop sebaceous cyst due to accumulation of sebum beneath the skin.
Normally it subsides without treatment however may need to get excised if increases in size or get infected.
Please get it removed as advised by your Dr.
Dr.Patil.
