Have Congestive Heart Failure. Am Diabetic. Had Defibrillator- Pacemaker. Second Heart Attack. Vein Little Damaged. Recommendations
I have congestive heart failure. I am a 73 year old diabetic female who has had bilateral mastectomies . IN june of this year I had a defibrillator- pacemaker implanted but the 3rd link could not be attached. Earlier this week I had a second heart failure while visiting NYC. They did an echo (injection fraction 30%)and later toojtook some 3-D photos in which the wire was clear. Head of echocardiology at Lenox-Hill said the vein lookeda little damaged but blood was flowing freely. Easy (?) to connect. I see my cardiologist tomorrow. He wants me to go to Mayo. Who are leading people in this specialty besides all reading this in Chicago and Northshore?
It looks like you need a good EP center since they had problems placing the third lead, most likely for resynchronization therapy. It would be quite reasonable to go ahead with a referral from your physician to Mayo, since I can attest about the quality and complex cases that the EP Department does.
Yours truly,
