Have Chest Pain In The Breast Bone. Feel Dizziness. Do Smoking. Have Partial Blindness. Treatment?

Yesterday I experienced sharp extreme chest pain right just by my breast bone and dizziness. I have had pain like this before and put it down to smoking (I plan to give up very soon), but today I experienced partial blindness in one of for around 30 seconds. I have had this happen once before 2 years ago but nothing since. Should I be concerned?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

It seems from the description that you may be having some issues either with your heart or internal carotid vessels (arteries that supply to the brain). As you were also a smoker in the past, a detailed evaluation is necessary to make a proper diagnosis of your problem.

Consult your family physician for further workup and management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
