Have Ankle Swelling, Excruciating Pain. Have Had Hip Replacements, Joint Surgery. Done Knee X Ray. Sounds Serious?

I have had two hip replacements and some joint surgery, but I have never had any trouble with my knees. Four years ago before my last hip replacement, my doctor xrayed both knees and said they were just like a teenagers.
I KNOW I have been sitting too long marketing online and my ankles have been swelling. I am 67, but have a good exercise history and was even a triathelete until about 6 years ago.
This weekend I visited my son's family in Nashville and in a three day period I began having swelling in my right knee, then pain, and then pain in my left knee. It is now two days later since I returned home and I can hardly bear to stand up. The pain is excruciating. Again. I have NEVER had any problems with my knees in my life and this suddenness is really frightening

Hi, it appears that you have orthritis of the knee, might be the osteoarthritis, due to the age. Being an athelet there is a chance of getting it. There is also a psychological effect as your doctor told about the size of your knees.
I to my patient with such condition prescribe neurotropic injections for 5 consecutive days, and analgesic anti inflamatories, and antibiotic like lincomycin. thank you.
