General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello

The medicines which you have mentioned, none of them is a blood thinner. While pantoprazole is used to treat acidity, atorvastatin in used to treat bad fat(dyslipidemia) and in prevention of heart disease, but none of them is know to have any effect on blood clotting. Please check if she is taking Ecospirin or any such medicine containing aspirin or clopidogrel as these are usually the blood thinning medications prescribed to heart patients.

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
As of right now, no current medical research suggests that Lipitor is a blood thinner. Lipitor is a statin, a class of drug that lowers cholesterol. Lipitor does not have any effect upon blood clotting, which is the function of blood thinning medications.
Blood thinning medications are aspirin, anticoagulants like warfarin or drugs like clopidogrel.
Please talk to you doctor for the exact medicine to be stopped.
Thanks
