Have PCOs. On Siphene, Suggested Follicular Monitoring. Time Siphene Intake And Time For Trying To Conceive?
Hii,I have PCOS (Multiple cyst in both ovaries).Iam on Siphene 100mg for last 3months and this month my Doc suggested for Follicular monitoring.I started on 12th day and by 19th the eggs matured and ruptured. But unfortunately this time also it didnt work.So my question is for how long i need to take Siphene(Clomiphene) and when shud i actually try for conceiving?after ovulation or pror to it?
Hi, Clomiphene is usually taken for a maximum of six cycles and if there is no response after three cycles, additional measures like gonadotropins and IUI are tried apart from follicular monitoring and timed intercourse. Intercourse should take place at least on alternate days prior to and after ovulation for at least a span of one week. Though sperms can remain viable for up to 4-5 days outside, they remain active for a maximum of 3 days; the ovum has a life span of only 24 hours. This limits the efficacy of successful intercourse. Hope this helps.
