Have MRI Results. Can Any Online Doctor Help Me In Reading It?

Hi my MRI says- Small perivertebral osteophytes are seen at multiple levels. vertebral bodies are normal in height and signal intensity. Diffuse disc bulge with broad-based right posterolateral protusion is noted at L4-5 level causing indentation of the thecal sac , bilateral foraminal narrowing(right more than left) and abutment of the right traversing as well as exiting nerve tools. Diffuse disc bulge with focal posterior annular tear is noted at L5-S1 level causing bilateral foraminal narrowing and abutment of the bilateral exiting and right travesing nerve roots. Facetal arthropathy is noted at all lumbar levels. Impression: Lumbar spondylosis and degenrative disc disease as described above

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

You have degenerative disease of spine. These are age related changes.
There are multiple osteophytes(bony growths at margins)at various levels. It is due to chronic stress in annulus fibrosis.
There is diffuse disc bulge at L4-5 level and it is indenting thecal sac.Bulge is also due to weakness in annulus fibrosis. It is also compromising neural foramen and nerve roots(right> left).
Annular tear with disc bulge noted at L5-S1 level causing neural foramen narrowing and abutment of nerve roots.
Facet (bony joints)hypertrophy is also noted.

Take Care
