Has Fever, High CRP, Chest Congestion, Cough. Is This Serious?

My son(4 months old) has fever and has temperature since past 3 days. Recent blood report shows high CRP of 53. However his CBC is in normal range. He has severe chest congestion and cough . the consulting doctor suggests hospitalization on immediate basis for at least 3 days. he also said that situation is serious and infection can spread to his brain also.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
CRP is C-reactive protein , which increases during inflammation & infection . As the history shows , patient is suffering from respiratory tract infection..Get the patient hospitalized and let him under antibiotic coverage..Dont worry if the steps are taken earlier and patient's immunity is good he will recover soon.
Good Luck
