Had Unprotected Sex Immediately After Periods, Still Took I-pill. Had Periods Again. Should I Worry ?
Hello My girlfriend had her regular period this month. On the very next day of her period we had a unprotected sex. I advised her to take an i-pill though and accordingly she took it the very next day though I didn't cum inside her. After a week she witnessed herself going through period once again. I am worried. Please advise me. Thanks
Hello, Emergency pill contains excess hormone that disrupts the hormonal milieu of the body and this results in withdrawal bleeding. The next cycle may be delayed. If she has regular 28-30 day cycles, she was in the safe period when the intercourse took place and as such there was no need for the emergency pill. Yet, chances of pregnancy are very little as she took it within the stipulated time. If she does not see her next cycle within two weeks after her due date, she should see a specialist for further advice. Take care.
