Had Tubal Reversal. Have Regular Periods With Slight Cramps. Experiencing Swollen Feet And Ankles. Frequent Urination And Heart Palpitations. Guide?

I am 42, had a tubal reversal 7 years ago and now for the first time in my life i'm late on my period. I am always on time and I monitor my period every month. I always start between day 23 and 25 with some spotting the day before. I am now on day 29 with no signs of anything coming except I have had some cramps. Also this week I've experienced swollen feet and ankles (which I never have), frequent urination, heart palpitations, constipation and some heart burn. I took a home pregnancy test this morning and the result was negative. I'm guessing this can either be perimenopause - though my only symptom is the late period or I'm pregnant with a false negative test. Any thoughts?

Hello ma'am.

It is always best to completely rule out pregnancy, you can do this by repeating the test 2-3 times with a days gap in between each test, but this time using an ealr morning urine sample.

Once pregnancy is ruled out it would be best to check on your hormone levels, a transvaginal ultrasound scan and a urine cultre and sensitivity examination which would all help in finding the exact cause for your presentation. In the meantime, please abstain from all forms of sexual contact.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes
