Had Bit Cheek. Painful And Have Headache. Rinsed With Saltwater. Treatment?
Hi, I bit my cheek about a week ago. Not just your typical "I bit my cheek", I really chomped down on my cheek eating a mouthful of skittles. The pain has stayed the same. Very bad. Right below my jaw is tender and I've had headaches since. What should I do?? I've rinsed with warm saltwater. Even a Colgate mouth sore rinse. Hasn't helped. :(
Hello and welcome to HCM forum, I will be glad to answer your query, A sudden cheek bite causes the cheek tissue to collect and is a very painful condition, The cheek tissue tends to come to the teeth during chewing which makes it more painful. I will advise you to continue with warm saline rinses and apply a oral gel hal an hour after or before meals atleast 3-4 times /day. It will take 7-10 days to resolve. I hope this answer was useful, I wish you good health, take care.
Hello, What you now have an infected mouth ulcer with lymph adenitis - probably submandibular. Mere rinse will not help you. You need proper antibiotic + probiotic + anti fungal tabs/ cream + Antiinfammatory drugs + mouth wash + oral hygiene. Sometime cortisone combined ointment or cortisone oral rinse may be needed. Till cured soft solid bland diet is better Best wishes
