Had Acute Gastroenteritis. Soft Stool With Red Strings

Felt sick two weeks ago, had some acute gasenteritis . Felt better after it passed. Today, i has gastric problems came back, had soft stool, not liquid. Noticed some bright red string in it, resembled a thin vein , or small branch. They didn t look like worms , nor did they move. Largest piece was 3-4 inches long, ~1-2mm in diameter. Seemed to meet in a cluster, but that was deep inside a big piece of poop, so I m not sure. A few smaller pieces had some mucus like substance on its edges

Hi Sankaravfx,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that you are having infection of gastrointestinal tract.
First of all you should get your stool examined (Routine/Microscopic and Culture /Senstivity) and for Occult blood.

You should get yourself examined by your doctor and take antacids like Ranitidine 150 mg twice daily along with antibiotic and antiamoebic(according to reports) under medical supervision.

Also follow precautions in your diet. Have light diet. Avoid spicy and oily foods.

Also get yourself examined for any piles and anal fissure as they can also cause blood mixed stools.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
