Had Abortion. Experiencing Cramps And Bleeding. Took Tylenol. What Can Be Done?
I had a abortion on Thursday May 9th, I was 13 weeks! I have been experiencing little cramping until tonight! I've been fine all day and I woke up to my underwear being saturated with blood and very intense cramping I took 2 650mg Tylenol a couple of hours ago and it's not working, I also have to work in the morning, what should I do!
It would have been important to state the method which was used to terminate the pregnancy.
At 13 weeks, medical termination with drugs is likely to fail and to be accomapnied with several complications such as incomplete abortion, bleeding etc.
The most appropriate plan would have been medical induction followed by a uterine evacuation so as to be sure the uterus was completely empty absence of which you are likely to develop bleeding and cramping. Abortion in Countries where it is legal, has to be done by qualified and experience medical personnel and not just by anybody.
Away from incomplete abortion, it is possible to have cramping and bleeding due to infection of the uterus. Antibiotics are giving post abortum and you should be on antibiotics if you had not been given.
You will need to take an ultrasound to see if the uterus is empty but most importantly you should meet the doctor who terminated the abortion for a review and treat this as a matter of urgency.
