Had A C-section And Total Abdominal Hysterectomy. Pain In The Lower Abdomen While Coughing. Reason?
I have had to c-sections and 2 years ago a total abdominal hysterectomy. When they did the hysterectomy the Dr cleaned up a lot of adhesions from the previous 2 surgeries. Now whenever I am lying down on my back, if I cough or sneeze I have terrible pain around deep in my lower abdomin (around the inscision). It feels like something is ripping inside of me.

Hi,
Based on the information provided it still seem like development of new adhesion and that is the cause of the problems you are facing.
Such adhesions normally occurs 1-2 months after the surgery, but in some case they can occur after some time. I believe such happened in your case.
ADVICE- consult near by surgeon/ gynec and get you self checked, mostly the adhesions can be detected via ultrasound and a minor laproscopic surgery can help dealing with such problems.
Hope it helps. Dr. JAY PATEL
