Had Bartholin's Cyst Removed. Lubrication Process And Sexual Drive Is Low. Taking Minastrin 24 Birth Control
Hello Dr. Grief. I'm a healthy 43 year old woman who doesn't have any children, have not reached menopause and have regular periods.
The last 3 years it seems my lubrication process and sexual drive is low. I'm currently taking Minestin 24 birth control pill and age 20 had a bartholin cyst removed. I've heard L-arginine supplement or vitamin b2 supplement is suppose to help, which is the best one to choose out of these? The lubricants nor moistrizers are no help to me. I'm over whelmed with reading on the internet.
Hello Thanks for your query. See, you might not be exactly menopausal, but might be about to enter the peri menopausal transitional period. However, you are already taking the birth control pills, so further hormones are not indicated or required. L arginine is supposed to help in increasing pelvic blood flow. Other measures include pelvic exercises ( yoga ), regular physical activity, psychological counselling and a nutritious diet. Local arousal gels also might help. Make sure you are having your thyroid hormones well controlled. Take care.
