Gland Removed For Tuberculosis In Neck. Drug Prescribed ETHAMBUTOL, ISONIAZID, RIFAMPICIN, PYRAZINAMIDE, PYRIDOXIN. Drugs Safe?

Dear Doctor,

I am 22 years old.
I had a tuberculosis in my neck and I had a surgery to remove that gland. However, a few days later the doctor made a prescription of the following medicines:
ETHAMBUTOL Tabs ( 3 to be taken daily for 60 days)
ISONIAZID Tabs (1 to be taken daily for 90 days)
RIFAMPICIN Caps ( 3 to be taken daily for 90 days)
PYRAZINAMIDE Tabs ( 3 to be taken daily for 60 days)
PYRIDOXINE HCl/VIT.B6 Tabs ( 1 to be taken daily for 90 days)

Please let me know if all these medicines are appropriate for me and should be taken as I unfortunately have doubts about treatments being prescribed in Saudi Arabia due to previous experiments.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
You are having Tubercular Lymphadenitis,I presume the histopathology report is positive for same.
Anti tubercular therapy with 4 drug combination is standard treatment and doses are given according to weight of the patient.
The vitamin pyridoxine is given to prevent neuropathy which can occur due to Isoniazid.
It is better to take anti tubercular drugs empty stomach to have better absorption.
Please have faith in your treating Physician and if there is any untoward effect like nausea, vomiting and jaundice or vision problem contact your physician.
Treatment for Tuberculosis is long so take it regularly and may continue for 6 to 8 months.
Take care.
Good Luck.
