Currently, I've had a swollen lymph node in my groin area for about two weeks that I'm a bit worried about. I have an appointment to see a doctor about it in about two weeks but it's bugging me until then. I'm mostly concerned because the lymph node is for the most part, painless, and somewhat firm and fixed, as I've read that could be a symptom of types of lymphoma. In terms of other causes, I don't have any other symptoms that I'm aware of, neither for infection, nor the B symptoms associated with lymphoma. I had a bit of a sneezing fit a couple days ago with a dry nose and stuff, but I think that might just be my allergies acting up.
I've actually had a swollen lymph node in around the same area a couple years ago that I got removed. They said they weren't sure of what caused it to swell, but that it definitely wasn't cancer in that case.
Like I said, I'm seeing a doctor about it. I guess I'm mostly curious about whether a firm painless and immobile lymph node has other causes besides cancer and if it's common or not. I'm a 24 year old male by the way, if that helps.
