Fatigue, Loss Of Appetite, Weightloss. History Of Being Bitten By Black Spider, BP Spiked High. No Antivenom Given. Suggestions?

I was bitten by a black widow spider one year ago, I went to the emergency room but they did not give me antivenom because they said I waited too long to come in, my blood presser which is normally in range had spiked very high, they said I could die and should be admitted but it would be four hours before a Dr would see me. I figured I didn't want to die in the er waiting room so I went home. I was pretty sick for three days and weak for awhile after that. I started losing weight and haven't had muck of an appetite since have you ever heard of this before ps I feel fine now

The role of anti venom in Black widow spider bite is controversial. High Blood Pressure is one of the early signs of envenomation. Rhabdomyolysis, a condition in which there is break down of muscle, is also a complication of Black widow spider bite. Both Untreated High Blood Pressure and Rhabdomyolysis can cause Acute Kidney Injury(AKI). The symptoms that you are describing can be due to AKI. You need to confirm your kidney function by blood tests like Urea, creatinine and electrolytes.
