Hello,

As the pain was sharp in nature this could be an intervertebral disc pop out but we need an MRI for the came.

As she is taking bed rest I will advise a bed rest for 3 days at least. During this time doing icing, ankle toe movements, knee to chest, and bridging exercise are recommended. Some simple message over the spine is also good.

Avoid getting up and doing strenuous work even if the pain comes down post icing.

Also, MRI is good to take if the pain doesn't come down after 3 days. If MRI confirms popped up disc than exercises related to that will be advised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
