Experiencing Pain In Urethra

I have had a test for UTI and it is clear. I am still having pain in the urethra most of the time. Sometimes stops hurting if I drink lots of water. But lately that isnt helping. Hurts before and/or after urinating, but not all the time. somedays is more painful than others. Dr has done a pap test, clear. He did a cat scan, said I need a colonascopy, (misspelled). The pain is still there and it is not in the colon... I cant get it through his head where the pain is.

Hi,

Some times simple urine test may not reveal any infection. It is advisable to get a direct examination to rule out urethritis.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. B. Radhakrishnan. Nair, OBGYN
