Esophageal Dilation, Difficulty Swallowing, Fullness Throat, Bloated. Had Upper Endoscopy. What Is The Cause?

I had an upper endoscopy with esophageal dilation and a few biopsies done on 9/20/13. For days after I was feeling a fullness in my throat after eating and it felt like there was a lump/bump in my throat that made swallowing difficult but still possible. On 9/23/13 I spoke to the doctor's nurse and the dr recommended I try a soft food diet for a few days. I know it has only been one day but i continue to feel the fullness in my throat (like my esopagus is full right up to the base of my neck). I just had lunch (a can of tomato soup) and now I feel that fullness and sort of a bloating in my upper belly. I also get a small bit of heartburn. Dr said there was no sign of reflux.
What could be causing the fullness feeling? It is very uncomfortable.

Hello, Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

Fullness feeling in stomach may be due to indigestion.
Heart burn may be due to reflex esophagitis.
I advise you to take some antacids like digene or gelusil liquids.

However difficulty in swallowing may be due to spasm of esophageal muscles by procedure upper endoscopy and dilatation.

If you are my patient, i would advise some muscle relaxants like baclofen for few days.

Please consult your treating physician regarding this possible cause and treatment.

Hope this helps.
Please reply for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
